Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a major disruptive force changing the labor markets worldwide and in India, including the nature of jobs, skills demand, and economics. This paper will look at the impacts of AI on labor economics in terms of the past, present, and future. It categorizes industries at more risk of being automated and areas that will increase, like machinery, which helps to have a complete picture of the future of work. AI technologies such as machine learning, robotics, and natural language processing are used in different industries to automate everyday activities and offer new job titles. The adaptation process of the workforce to changes caused by AI is essential, as it focuses on reskilling and upskilling, training and educational opportunities, and government and corporate policies favorable to such processes. The economic ramifications of AI automation are multidimensional, as productivity and efficiency increase through AI. On the other hand, AI affects wages and can cause a rise in income inequality. Legal framework and regulations play a critical role in managing AI-based changes, where the current labor laws require review as they apply to AI-enhanced organizational environments. They advise legal protection of workers’ rights, transparency, and accountability of AI deployment. AI’s ethical and social consequences involve favoring technological development over social fairness, including growth in maturity, and avoiding digital deserts. The paper offers solutions supporting inclusive growth and policies to overcome the digital divide, seeking an inclusive position in configuring AI.
